Governing Councils

At Michigan Tech, fraternal organizations, also known as chapters, are governed by two councils: the Interfraternity Council (IFC) and the College Panhellenic Council (CPH).  In addition, we also have a fraternal honor society: Order of Omega (OoO).

Interfraternity Council

The Interfraternity Council (IFC), which is a part of the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC), is the coordinating and governing body for all of Michigan Tech's general and social fraternities. Consisting of seven elected executive officers and one representative from each respective fraternity, the council coordinates recruitment activities and member development events, supports academic achievement, governs the actions of its member chapters, and promotes community service projects throughout the year.

College Panhellenic Council

The College Panhellenic Council (CPH or Panhel), which is part of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), serves as the governing council to the general and social sororities at Michigan Tech. The council consists of eight elected executive officers and two delegates from each sorority and is responsible for promoting positive relations between sororities, coordinating council-wide activities, formal recruitment, roundtables, supporting academic endeavors, and community service and philanthropic events throughout the year.

Order of Omega

Order of Omega is a leadership honor society for members of Fraternity & Sorority organizations. Order of Omega recognizes upperclassmen who have exemplified high standards in the areas of scholarship, leadership, involvement within their respective organization and within the Fraternity/Sorority, campus, and local community.
