Just had to share the fact that Joshua Pearce, head of Michigan Tech’s Open Sustainability Technology Lab, was quoted in an article in my husband’s union paper, The Electrical Worker. In the August 2014 issue there was an article titled “The $200 Freedom Machine.” The article was about a retired New Orleans IBEW Local 130 member, Pat Delaney, who invented the all-in-one machine shop. To find out more about the invention and how it can change the world (literally), check out The Electrical Worker, August 2014, at www.ibew.org, or find out more about Delaney and his invention at http://bit.ly/multimachine. Mr. Delaney is looking for more people to make MultiMachines and the concrete lathes mentioned in the article as well as people who can help spread the word and teach others about how to do it as well. There have to be some engineers out there who are retired and are interested in helping “poor people jump hundreds of years forward in technology and transform the economies of entire regions”. Quote is from Joshua Pearce.
