Another band to play at Tech was STYX. They were a club band out of Chicago at the time and certainly grew in popularity over time. The played in Sherman Gym I believe in the Fall of 1972 (my Freshman year). A very small crowd was present for this free concert. I had seen them in Chicago and was pleasantly surprised to see them in Houghton.

Hasn’t anyone from the olden days commented on the KINGSTON TRIO concert in spring of 1959. Even with the acoustics in Sherman Gym it was a super performance, especially when they explained their mastery of our langwidge because they were educated in our country at MCM & T.
