Hi Dennis,
I was delighted to see the picture, in the newsletter, of the cadets being commissioned (ROTC Ceremony) at graduation. It was May 21, 1977. The new second lieutenants that I can identify, going from the right side of the photo to the left are Jordan Layer, Don Peterson, and Jeff Larson (me of course). I feel bad that I can’t remember the name of the cadet on the far left of the photo. Unfortunately I lost touch with everyone after the Engineer Officer’s Basic Course that summer at Fort Belvoir, VA. I spent four years with the Army Corps of Engineers and worked in Korea, Germany, and various posts in the U.S. I resigned my commission in 1981 with the rank of Captain. I was stationed at Fort Lewis, WA at that time.
Thanks for the great newsletter. My four years at MTU are fondly remembered as one of the best times of my life. And the education is second to none and put me on an amazingly successful career path.
Thanks again.
Jeff Larson

Hi Dennis:
Class of ’77, indeed. My old friend and Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity brother Jeff Larson is third from the left.
