New Policy Lets Recent MTU Alumni Return for Accelerated Master’s Degrees
A change to Michigan Tech's policy on accelerated programs has created an opportunity for Tech grads who earned their bachelor's in the last six semesters. Previously, students had to begin their accelerated master's programs immediately after finishing their bachelor's degrees. However, thanks to this new policy, Huskies who earned their bachelor's as far back as fall 2022 are now eligible to begin accelerated programs in fall 2024. (This policy does not apply to students already enrolled in master's programs.)
Additionally, some programs at Michigan Tech now also allow eligible students to double-count up to nine approved credits toward their 30-credit accelerated master's degree, depending on program structure. And Senior Rule credits can still be used, too.
These changes add up to substantial savings, allowing alumni to obtain the value of a master's degree in fewer semesters. And these accelerated programs are available both online and in person at MTU.
If you have questions about accelerated programs or you'd like to dive deeper into the application process, please join the Michigan Tech Global Campus team for an informal virtual interest session on Aug. 1 at 11:30 a.m. Discover how you can get started on your program for the fall 2024 semester, which begins on Aug. 26.
