Required of All Employees: Sexual Misconduct Training Released

As students, staff and faculty return to campus, it is time to complete your required annual employee training related to Title IX and sexual misconduct. You may recall that in April we postponed the training due to the pending 2024 Title IX regulations. Legal actions taken in several states have resulted in Michigan Tech functioning under the 2020 regulations until further notice. For additional information, please review our annual report.

You may have already received an email with the subject “Michigan Tech Required Title IX Employee Training.” This email will contain a link to access the training within Vector, our training platform. The training is due in 45 days and takes about one hour to complete. Topics include responsibilities of Title IX personnel, bystander intervention strategies, appropriate responses to dating and domestic violence, confidentiality, supporting survivors, confidential resources, and referring individuals to our Title IX office.

For more information on Title IX, visit our website.

Grace Hoeppner Appointed to NCAA DII Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

Michigan Tech soccer student-athlete Grace Hoeppner has been named to the Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), and will serve until January 2027.

Hoeppner has been a key contributor to the Michigan Tech soccer team, helping the Huskies return to the NCAA Tournament a season ago, the first time since the 2014-15 season. She started in all 20 games and posted a career-high three assists to lead the Huskies during their 2023-24 campaign.

"Grace is an excellent choice to serve on the DII SAAC committee representing both the GLIAC and Michigan Tech," said Suzanne Sanregret, Michigan Tech's vice president for athletics and recreation. "She is passionate about her work with SAAC and will do a fabulous job representing the DII student-athletes. Selection to this prestigious committee is a credit to the leadership that Grace exhibits on and off the field. She will have a strong voice as the NCAA navigates through this unprecedented time."

"I am incredibly thankful and excited for the opportunity to represent Michigan Tech and the other student-athletes of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference on a national scale," Hoeppner said. "I look forward to collaborating with SAAC representatives from other conferences to create an uplifting atmosphere for all Division II student-athletes."
