Celebrate the 34th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act

Today, July 26, marks the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This important civil rights law prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life.

The ADA aims to remove barriers and expand opportunities for people with disabilities to live, work, learn and play in the communities of their choice. The full promise of the ADA will be reached if everyone remains committed to continuing efforts to fully implement the act.

The ADA National Network is a free resource that provides information and training on the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Celebrate the act's 34th anniversary and share what the ADA means to you on social media with #ThanksToTheADA and #ADA34.
