The Leading Scholar Award is awarded competitively to high school seniors with exemplary leadership attributes and outstanding scholarly achievement. Student application and essay response is due by November 15 of your senior year. Valued at full-time tuition, room and board, and a $1,000-per-year towards additional expenses. Presidential Scholars Program awards are competitively awarded to new incoming first-year students based on cumulative GPA or a combination of cumulative GPA and SAT or ACT score. Valued at $1,000 to $5,500 per year (renewable for eight semesters). Estimate your scholarship amount.

The FIRST Robotics Scholarship is awarded competitively to incoming first-year students who have actively competed on a FIRST Robotics Competition, FIRST Tech Challenge, or VEX Robotics team during their high school career. Valued at $4,000 per year.
Talent Awards are awarded competitively to incoming first-year students pursuing any major at Michigan Tech. Awardees must actively participate in musical ensembles, stage productions, take course work in visual arts, or work toward a degree, second degree, or minor offered through the Visual and Performing Arts Department. Students must submit a video audition. Award amounts vary.
Making a Difference Scholarships are awarded to new incoming first-year or transfer students from Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw, or Ontonagon counties (MI) who have a passion to improve community or human health in our four counties. Submit your scholarship application by February 1. Award amounts vary.
Awarded to new incoming first-year undergraduate students who participated in a Summer Youth academic program at Michigan Tech. Award amounts vary. Applications are due on December 1.
Awarded competitively to new incoming first-year and new incoming transfer undergraduate students who meet eligibility criteria and have a FAFSA on file. Submit your scholarship application by March 1 (applications open December 1.) Test scores are not needed to apply for this scholarship. Valued up to $5,500 per year from the Thompson Foundation and Michigan Tech commits to matching up to $5,500 in university funding in the form of grants and scholarships, including programs like the Presidential Scholars Program and Michigan Tech Transfer Award.
Awarded based on athletic excellence to students selected by Michigan Tech coaches to participate in varsity athletics. Valued up to full-time tuition and fees, room and board, and book allowance.
Sponsored scholarships are created through the generosity of individuals and organizations for incoming or continuing students. In most cases, students are automatically considered for the awards for which they are eligible. However, some sponsored scholarships require a separate application.
Awarded based on merit and/or to National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test finalists. Michigan Tech must be listed as your first-choice university with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). Recipients are chosen by NMSC. Valued at $1,000 to $2,000.
Awarded based on merit to US citizens who have been accepted into the ROTC program. Valued up to full-time tuition and lab fees, plus a book allowance and a monthly stipend.
Awarded based on merit and/or need to students who achieved qualifying scores on the SAT. Your FAFSA must be received at the federal processor by March 1 for priority consideration. Award and value are contingent upon state funding.
The S-STEM Husky PAWS Scholarship is available for undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need who are majoring in engineering, computing, or physics programs. Application and essay are due by March 1 (applications open December 1). Awards can be up to $15,000 per year.
Non-Michigan Residents

Students receiving the Alumni Legacy Award are not eligible to receive a National Scholars Program Award, University Student Aid Grant, Military Family Education Award, or the International Ambassador Scholarship.
Automatically awarded to incoming nonresident first-year students who are pursuing a major within the College of Business. Submit your application for admission to an eligible major. Valued at $2,000 to $20,000 per year.
