Welcome to the banks of the largest freshwater lake in the world. To national parks, deep history, and thousands of acres of forestland. Welcome to four seasons, year-round adventures, and vibrant community. Welcome to the Copper Country. The community. The campus.
Michigan Tech and the Copper Country have a small-town feel. Students and community members say it's just right—not so big that it's easy to get lost, but not too small, either.
Welcome home.

Housing
Your residence hall is way more than just a place to crash. It's where you'll make great new friends and create some of your most memorable Michigan Tech experiences. Whether you prefer a bustling environment or a more cozy, old-fashioned vibe, you're sure to find a spot that fits your unique personality.
Get to know your housing options at Michigan Tech. Our residence halls—Douglass Houghton
Hall, McNair Hall, and Wadsworth Hall—each have their own style, personality, and
individual "houses" geared toward helping students develop community. Hillside Place
offers apartment-style living to transfer students, second-year students or higher,
students age 21 and older, and international students.
Plus, a new residence hall is currently under construction with plans to open in fall 2025. This new hall is
on track for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification and
will feature a vibrant and eco-friendly living space for 516 additional Huskies, modern
and sustainable details, integrated technologies, and state-of-the-art amenities and
facilities.
