Teacher and Counselor Visit Program

The best way to share Michigan Tech with your students—and learn more about us in the process—is to see campus for yourself. We invite you to join us for a visit especially for high school teachers and counselors.

Your Package Includes:

  • Free local hotel lodging (for up to two nights)
  • A campus tour with complimentary lunch in the residence halls—tours are available twice daily on weekdays.
  • VIP passes for everyone in your group to experience MTU's incredible facilities for free. Depending on the time of year you visit, you can enjoy the following:
    • Student Development Complex (SDC)—Visit our 235,000-square-foot athletic facility for indoor tennis, racquetball, swimming, the fitness center, and more.
    • Portage Lake Golf Course—Bring your clubs and enjoy nine holes on us. Carts and clubs are available for rent.
    • Mont Ripley Ski Hill—Ski or snowboard Michigan Tech’s own ski hill overlooking the Keweenaw Waterway.
    • Gates Tennis Center—Bring your gear and play for an hour.
    • Tech Trails—Run, mountain bike, hike, snowshoe, or cross-country ski our very own recreational trails.
    • Outdoor Adventure Program—Redeem your coupon for a rental of up to $20 (watercraft rentals are not included).
    • A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum—Enjoy exhibits showcasing specimens from the Great Lakes region and around the world, including the world's best collection of Michigan minerals and world-record holding 19-ton native copper vein.
    • Visual and Performing Arts—Catch a Michigan Tech student performance by one of our bands, ensembles, or choirs, our symphony orchestra, or the Michigan Tech Theatre Company during the academic year.
    • Michigan Tech athletic events—Cheer on the Huskies during NCAA action.
