Join Us at Military Appreciation Weekend on May 2–3, 2025!
Please join us to celebrate our military alumni during Michigan Tech Military Service Appreciation Weekend. The weekend will offer a variety of activities, including a guided tour of the Keweenaw Research Center, speeches and presentations from fellow military alumni, and delicious meals that will allow you to create connections and reminisce on your time as a Husky. The weekend will be capped off with a Military Appreciation Dinner on Saturday night, with a keynote address, "Reflecting on our Past, to Propel us in the Future," from retired Colonel Merrily Dente Madero '85.

Friday, May 2
12–1:30 p.m. Welcome Lunch—Memorial Union Building (MUB), Ballroom | $22
Join us for a lunch and welcoming remarks from ROTC department leadership.
1:30–3 p.m. Campus Tours—Memorial Union Building (MUB), John Edgar McAllister Welcome Center
Join an admissions staff member for a guided walking campus tour. Space is limited,
so please sign up to reserve your spot as soon as possible.
3–5 p.m. Keweenaw Research Center (KRC) Guided Tour and Activities—KRC (23620 Airpark Blvd, Calumet)
The KRC is a multidisciplinary research center of Michigan Tech that has actively
supported ground vehicle development for the US warfighter for more than 70 years.
Please join us for an open house at KRC highlighting past and current US military
efforts. Several vehicles will be on display and staff will be on hand to discuss
activities. Past and current friends of the KRC will likely be in attendance to add
to the entertainment. Light snacks and beverages will be served.
Saturday, May 3
8–9 a.m. Morning Hike with Outdoor Adventure Program (OAP)—Tech Trails, Sharon Ave
Take a morning hike on the Tech Trails with our OAP staff. The hike will take place
around the core loop. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing.
11 a.m.–12 p.m. Tech Talk with Jon French '95, SFC—Memorial Union Building (MUB), Alumni Lounge
Hear from Jon French '95 as he shares his Tech Talk: "Beneficiaries of a Michigan
Tech Alumnus and US Service Member"
12:30–1:30 p.m. Lunch—Memorial Union Building (MUB), Ballroom | $24
1:30–3:30 p.m. ROTC Open House—ROTC Building
Stop by the ROTC for an open house to see all that's changed since your time on campus,
and all that's stayed the same!
1:30–3:30 p.m. Oral History Collection—ROTC Building
During the ROTC Open House, the Office of Alumni Engagement is looking forward to
collecting your stories about your time at Michigan Tech and your military experience.
