Why did you choose Michigan Tech?
I lived in Houghton. My dad works at Michigan Tech. It made the most sense.

Please tell us about a memorable experience you had during your time at Tech.
I really enjoyed my time spent with the African Students Organization and being involved with African Night and other events. I also enjoyed getting to know people in the Chemistry Department.

How well did Michigan Tech prepare you for your career?
It prepared me very well. I learned how to be a leader, grew in communication, and also networked and got to know people.

What was your first job after graduation and how did you secure it?
Dentist after graduating from dental school.

Tell us about a few of your career highlights and notable achievements.
I was blessed and so grateful to have received a scholarship through the National Health Service Corps. The program aims to provide healthcare providers with an opportunity to help the underserved through their profession. I am now practicing as a general dentist fulfilling my service obligation at a health center.

What advice on being successful would you give to Tech students and young alumni?
Don't isolate yourself. Network and ask for help when needed. Know that college teaches you the basics, but there is always more to learn.
