Gordon Mosher III is the director of choice programming for the Douglas County School District in Colorado, where he oversees open enrollment, charter school authorization, and homeschool operations for the district. For the first 11 years of his career, Gordon was a science teacher in Michigan and Arizona where he taught middle and high school students, in addition to being a football and track coach. After a short stint in district leadership in Arizona, Gordon left public education to join the AVID Center in San Diego, CA. In his role as program manager at AVID Center, Gordon consulted with school districts across the country and had primary oversight for Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and Utah. Gordon still serves as a national staff developer and consultant for AVID Center, facilitating leadership and instructional development. After 10 years at AVID Center, Gordon joined the Douglas County School District and has worked in his current role since.
Gordon obtained his Bachelor of Science in Forestry in 2001 and his Bachelor of Science in Applied Ecology and Environmental Sciences in 2002—both from Michigan Tech, where he also received his secondary teaching credentials. He also has a Master’s in Public Administration from Fort Hays State University.
