Roger Liska, EdD, PE

Dr. Roger W. Liska, a 1965 civil engineering graduate of Michigan Tech, is Associate Dean and Professor of the College of Architecture, Arts and Humanities at Clemson University. After leaving Tech, Dr. Liska held various engineering positions in the Detroit area and received a masters degree in civil engineering from Wayne State University in 1967. Since 1972 he has held various faculty and administrative positions in the area of construction/engineering education at the College of DuPage, Auburn University, University of Maryland, and Clemson University.

Dr. Liska received his doctorate in educational administration in 1988 from the University of Georgia. He has served as national President of the American Council for Construction Education and the American Institute of Constructors. He is presently on the national Board of Directors of both groups, and a Fellow in AIC. He has received two national outstanding teacher awards: the Associated Builders and Contractors Trimmer Teaching Award and the American Institute of Constructors Klinger Construction Education Award.

Dr. Liska has developed and taught over 300 professional development courses for the construction industry, authored three books, a dozen training manuals, and numerous professional articles. He has studied in many foreign countries and serves on the Education and Membership Board of the Chartered Institute of Building located in Ascot, UK of which he is a member. He is also a member of the Michigan Tech Dean's Club, and Founder's Club. Roger and his wife, Judy, reside in Pendleton, South Carolina and have two daughters and two grand children.
