Biography

Paige Short serves as associate director of operations in Michigan Tech's Engagement and Belonging department, where she uses her expertise in project management and process improvement to enhance University operations and build an inclusive campus environment. With significant experience in higher education administration, she specializes in streamlining organizational processes, developing accessible content strategies, and implementing inclusive engagement initiatives.

In her current role, Paige focuses on connecting stakeholders with change makers and identifying opportunities for operational enhancement. She brings a data-driven approach to process improvement while maintaining a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. As a dedicated advocate for positive change, she works to create inclusive decision-making processes and believes in the fundamental principle that higher education should be accessible to all who seek it.

Previously, Paige served as a project manager within University Marketing Communications, where she successfully managed cross-media recruitment campaigns and reputation publications, with particular emphasis on document compliance. Her comprehensive understanding of University operations is enhanced by her active involvement in institutional governance, serving as a University senator and contributing to various committees including Staff Council and the Conflict Resolution Network.

A proud Michigan Tech alumna, Paige holds a BS in Scientific and Technical Communication with minors in Media Production and Psychology. This multidisciplinary background enables her to approach operational challenges with both technical precision and human-centered design principles. She resides in Houghton with her partner and animals. A proud nerd for life, most weekends she can be found gaming with friends, playing roller derby, or hiking in the beautiful Keweenaw.
