Dr. Guenther received his B.S. in Biology from Michigan Tech in 1975. He went to medical school at Wayne State University (M.D., 1979). From 1979 to 1983 he spent his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn. Since 1983 Dr. Guenther is in private practice in Big Rapids. Dr. Leann Nitschke M.D. graduated from Michigan Tech in 1984 with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. She and fellow alum, Matthew Nitschke (‘84) married 3 weeks after graduation. They were married for nearly 31 years before Matthew’s passing in 2015.
