Shannon M. Astrike, CPA, PFS, began her career as a Certified Public Accountant in 1993. She attended Purdue University and received her BA in Accounting from Central Michigan University in December of 1993. She is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). She has been a Professional Financial Advisor since 1998. She obtained the designation of Personal Financial Specialists (PFS) in 2010. Shannon specializes in assisting small businesses and individuals with their tax and accounting needs, and financial advisory services. Shannon worked for a regional accounting firm for 13 years and then founded Astrike Financial PLLC on August 1, 2006. She has received many distinguished awards during her career including:
Shannon is a past board member of Family and Children’s Services; past president of the Board at North Midland Family Center and is also a member of the CMU Accounting Advisory Committee, The Northeastern Michigan Estate Planning Council, The Cetera Women's Impact Network Committee, and the Midland Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the 2002 Class of Leadership Midland. She has been active in various community events and fundraisers, during her professional career. Shannon is married to her husband, Derek, and they have two children. She has resided in the Midland area for the past 29 years! In her spare time, she enjoys running, fishing, hunting, boating, traveling, and spending time with her family. She and her family attend Hope Lutheran Church in Rhodes, Michigan. |

Dan Hagerman received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from Michigan Technological University and a Master of Science degree in Taxation from Wayne State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Michigan and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Michigan Association of CPA’s.
Dan is a senior manager in EY’s Business Tax Advisory practice serving public and private companies in a variety of industries. Dan has a significant amount of experience identifying and implementing federal tax planning strategies in multiple areas of federal taxation and provides IRS controversy support to his portfolio of clients.
Additionally, Dan serves as an advisor in EY’s Entrepreneurs Access Network for Black and Latinx entrepreneurs and is EY Detroit DEI council and LGBTQ+ professional network chair. In the community, Dan serves on the board of directors at the Ruth Ellis Center, a non-profit that supports at-risk LGBTQ+ youth.
Dan was recognized in Crain’s Business Detroit as a 2021 Notable LGBTQ in Business.

Paul graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Business Administration from Michigan Technological University in 1989. In December 2019, Paul retired from a 28 year career at EY, having founded the Firm’s $2B+ Divestiture Advisory Services business. Considered an expert in the divestitures arena, Paul was frequently quoted in, or made appearances on, various media including the Wall Street Journal, CNBC and Fox News. During his tenure at EY, Paul also ran the $1B+ Global Transaction Diligence business and served as the Senior Partner on numerous transformational global carve out and spin off transactions for a variety of Fortune 100 and 500 clients, including Cardinal Health, ITT, Kodak, Onex Partners, Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, General Electric, Abbott, Medtronic, Covidien, and Ferro Corporation, amongst numerous others.. Paul is also a Certified Public in both Illinois and Ohio. In addition to being on both the Board and the Development Committee for Girls on the Run, Chicago, Paul is a trustee at the First United Methodist Church in Park Ridge, Illinois. Paul is an avid “Pelotoner”, where you can regularly find him competing on the leaderboard. Paul lives in Park Ridge, Illinois with his wife Kristie and daughters Sophia & Claire. |
David Bernard, '74 Former VP for Taxes and Real Estate, Kimberly Clark, Oshkosh Wisconsin |
After receiving a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Michigan Tech, Bernard began an illustrious career at Kimberly Clark in 1974. After earning an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh while continuing his work, and moving around within the tax department, he retired as the VP for Taxes and Real Estate. In addition to his work at Kimberley Clark, he was a member of the Tax Executives Institute for over 25 years and served as the Institutes International President in 2006-2007. Bernard also served on the IRS’s Advisory Council from 2008 through 2011. He currently sits on Michigan Tech’s College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council. |
Ronald Feick, '75 Former Assistant General Tax Counsel for General Motors, Detroit Michigan and Zurich Switzerland |
After receiving a BSBA (Accounting) with High Honor from Michigan Tech, Feick began his career with Ernst and Ernst in 1975. A Payton Award winner, he joined the General Motors Tax Staff in January 1987, beginning a 22 year career with the automaker. After earning his JD (Cum Laude, Order of the Coif) from Wayne State University while at General Motors, Feick moved around within the tax department holding senior positions such as General Tax Counsel – Europe located at GM’s European Headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, as well as North American Tax Counsel for all of General Motors North American Operations. He retired from General Motors late 2008 and returned to the Detroit Office of Ernst & Young. Feick is an MTU Alumni Association Life Member, a member of the College’s Business Academy (1997), and a past member of the College’s National Advisory Board. |
Daniel D. Greenlee, ‘74 President, Michigan Tech Fund |
Dan Greenlee received his B.S. degree in business administration in 1974 from Michigan Technological University, Houghton, Michigan. Mr. Greenlee is a certified public accountant. Mr. Greenlee was appointed to his current position as the President of the Michigan Tech Fund, in June of 2014. Previously, he was Michigan Tech University's Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for the Board of Control for 13 years. As the President of the Michigan Tech Fund, he is responsible for endowment investments and investment manager relationships, along with general fiduciary responsibilities. Mr. Greenlee was hired as Controller at the University in 1999. As the Controller of the University he was responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, plant fund, research accounting, purchasing, property office, and financial reporting and tax issues. In 2001, Mr. Greenlee was promoted to the CFO of the University and appointed as the Treasurer of the Board of Control. He remained in those positions until June, 2014. Prior to coming to the University, Mr. Greenlee served as senior vice president/controller at D&N Bank, Hancock, Michigan. He began his career at D&N Bank in 1984 and prior to becoming their senior vice president/controller, he served in a variety of positions, as: secondary market services, financial analysis, asset management, and treasurer/portfolio manager. Mr. Greenlee's early career experience began as a senior auditor for Arthur Young and Company CPAs (later Ernst and Young CPAs), and later, as a cost accounting supervisor for Niagara of Wisconsin Paper Corporation. |
Theresa Laubrick, '11 Tax Senior, Deloitte Tax LLP, Detroit, Michigan |
Theresa Laubrick graduated Summa Cum Laude from Michigan Technological University in 2011 with B.S. degrees in Accounting and Finance and minors in Enterprise and Music. Throughout her college education, Theresa completed an internship at Raytheon in Forest, Mississippi, and was selected as Michigan Tech’s Outstanding Woman in Business. In addition, she was part of the Applied Portfolio Management Portfolio program and represented Michigan Tech at the Beta Gamma Sigma leadership conference in Arlington, Virginia. Theresa has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2011. She began her career at Deloitte Tax LLP in October of 2011. At Deloitte, Theresa specializes in the Research and Development Tax credit. She is also involved with the Women’s Initiative (WIN) which encourages a culture where all leaders thrive. Theresa has a passion for music and enjoys travelling throughout the US and abroad. |

Mr. Moravy received his bachelor’s degree in business administration with honor from Michigan Technological University in 1972 (concentration in economics). He went on to earn an MBA from the University of Michigan in 1974 (concentration in accounting). He joined the Chicago office of Arthur Andersen LLP in 1974, and progressed to partner. In 2002 he joined the Chicago office of Ernst and Young LLP, as a partner, where he provided assurance and advisory services to public and private financial services companies until retiring in 2008. He has served on the Board of the AQR Funds since 2008 and of the Nuveen Exchange-Traded Commodity Funds since 2012. At AQR Funds Mr. Moravy is the designated audit committee financial expert, as well as the Chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Nominating and Governance Committee. Also, since 2008 he has provided consulting and litigation support services related to accounting and auditing. He is a Life Trustee of the Michigan Tech Fund, and a member of the Michigan Tech Academy of Business, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois CPA Society, the Independent Directors Council of the Investment Company Institute, and the National Association of Corporate Directors. Previously he served as a trustee of the Michigan Tech Fund and as a member of the Michigan Tech College of Business National Advisory Council. |
Ed Robinson, '66 Transportation Consultant |
Robinson was an honor graduate of Michigan Tech in 1966 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He began his career as a business consultant with Deloitte Haskins and Sells (now Deloitte and Touche) in Chicago. When he left the company in 1991, he was National Director of Transportation Services. Since then he has worked as a private financial and strategic business consultant to numerous companies within the transportation industry and serves on several corporate boards. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Minnesota Society of CPAs, the Governmental Accounting and Auditing Commission of Minnesota, and has many other professional affiliations. Robinson is a Michigan Tech Fund Life Trustee, having served on the Board of Trustees from 1985-1995. He was inducted into the MTU Business and Engineering Administration Academy in 1994. Having a strong commitment to the College of Business, he was Chair of the Tidwell Center Endowment Campaign. |
