Launched in 2015, Career Fest is a series of casual, outdoor networking events and career development workshops held on campus every fall in the weeks leading up to Career Fair.
For Students
No need to dress up. No need to bring your resume (although it wouldn't hurt to have one in your backpack). Stop between classes and talk to employers on the campus mall. This is your chance to learn about career opportunities and make connections. And you can usually pick up a free pair of sunglasses.
Students do not need to register, but please stop by the Career Services tent to chat with us and tap in.
For Employers
What kinds of things does your company bring to an industry trade show? Bring those things to campus to show them to our students in outdoor, casual events. This “show and tell” format lets students learn what you do or make and what kinds of jobs they can find at your company. Enhance your branding by participating in one or more of these days. Typically, there are four or five Career Fest days scheduled in September in the weeks prior to the Career Fair.
Career Fest Resume Review
After the outdoor portion of the day, come up to the Career Services Learning Center for Resume Review!
Students: Have your resume reviewed by an industry recruiter. Get their insights into how best to communicate your experiences and skills to them.
Employers: Help students improve their resumes, so that they are easier for you to read at Career Fair. If you meet a student whose resume meets your requirements, you can set up an interview with them.
Resume Review is also heald in the Library East Reading Room during the afternoon of the day before Career Fair.
Plan ahead.
Use Handshake and Career Fair Plus to explore which employers will be on campus on each Fest day.
