The Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geospatial Engineering encourages graduate students to explore the many graduate certificates in the Department and offered by other units on campus to build their Master’s degree. Students are encouraged to “stack” certificates to achieve the 30 credit hours required to complete a master of science degree. A total of 18 credits, or two certificates, must be taken from the primary program of study, i.e., civil engineering, environmental engineering, environmental engineering science, and integrated geospatial technology. The remaining 12 credits may be completed using a combination of certificates or classes from other disciplinary areas, with permission from the student’s graduate advisor or from the graduate director.
