Paul D. Uttormark, PhD

Dr. Paul D. Uttormark, a 1962 civil engineering graduate of Michigan Tech, is the Director of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at the University of Maine. After graduation, Paul received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. From 1966 to 1976, he was an associate scientist with the Water Resources Center at the University of Wisconsin.
Dr. Uttormark has been at the University of Maine since 1976 where he has been an Associate Professor of civil engineering, Director of the Land and Water Resources Center, Director of the Sponsored Programs Division, and Assistant Vice President for Research, before assuming his present position. Among his service accomplishments are memberships in ASCE, the Society of Research Administrators, and the Universities' Council on Water Resources, charter membership and Board of Directors of the North American Lake Management Society, and membership and Board of Directors of the National Association of Water Institute Directors.
