Philip C. Youngs, PE

Mr. Philip Youngs completed a baccalaureate degree in civil engineering in 1957. He then went on to obtain a master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Michigan in 1958. Youngs retired as President Emeritus of McNamee Porter & Seeley, Inc. of Ann Arbor, Michigan, a full-service architectural & engineering design and consulting firm. He joined the firm in 1960 after serving two years of active duty with the U.S. Army. His career with McNamee Porter & Seeley began as a staff engineer, from there he moved his way up to project engineer, principal, and finally President and CEO. Youngs was also a retired officer of the U.S. Army Reserve.
He was a member of the Michigan Society of Professional Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers, and the American Society of Civil Engineers. As a member of the Water Environment Federation, he served as Chair in 1994-1995 of the Engineers Joint Contract Documents Committee representing the American Consulting Engineers Council. He was a member of the Michigan Tech President's Society, Varsity Club, and a corresponding member of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Professional Advisory Committee. Phil was a strong supporter of Michigan Tech through his sixteen years of work on advisory committees.
