Ronald M. Krump

Mr. Ron Krump came to Michigan Tech from Plymouth, Michigan and earned his baccalaureate in civil engineering in 1957. During his student years, he served three years on the Student Council, and chaired Winter Carnival. In addition, he was President of the Kappa Delta Psi Fraternity, President of the Inter-fraternity Council, and President of the Blue Key National Honor Fraternity.

Following graduation, he served with the Corps of Engineers as Chief of the Planning Division in the Post Engineer's Office at Fort Leonard Wood. Later, he spent two years in construction project management and sales with Champion Inc. in Iron Mountain, Michigan. He then moved to Reno and worked three years for Meredith Steel where he was responsible for design and construction of steel buildings. He started Krump Construction in 1967. Since then, Krump Construction has grown to be one of the largest and most successful construction firms in Nevada. Ron served as President of the Associated General Contractors of Nevada in 1982 and 1983 and chaired the AGC National Ethics Committee. He served as President of the Executives Association of Reno, President of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, as well as on several other civic organizations.

Ron is a member of the Michigan Tech President's Club and served on the Century II Campaign Task Force and on the Executive Council for the Civil and Environmental Engineering "Partnering with the Future Campaign". He was recently presented with the Michigan Tech Civil and Environmental Engineering "Golden Transit Award". Ron and his wife, Susan, have three children and reside in Reno.
