Guidelines
Request time: a maximum of 16-hours for the mass spectrometers and four-hours on the microscopes, for a maximum of 30 hours per week. Please note that special method considerations (e.g., ion polarity and pre-use external calibration) must be considered. Thus, requests may require additional discussion or clarification before approval is granted.
To avoid unwanted use charges, 12-hours advance notice is required, if you choose to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Priority for instrument use:
- classes and course laboratories
- visiting external instrument users
- Michigan Tech research community
In the case of conflicting needs of multiple users, scheduling will be arranged in consultation with the instrument oversight committee. In all other circumstances, decisions will be made based on the above-stated priorities.
