Carlos Jorda

With 52 years of experience in the international oil and gas industry, Carlos Jorda has served at the highest executive levels in refining and marketing, corporate planning, finance, and the production of Syncrude from Venezuela's Orinoco Belt with PDVSA, rising to president of PDV America and chairman of the CITGO Board of Directors.
A native of Venezuela, Carlos Jorda graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Michigan Tech. He joined the Creole Petroleum Corporation after graduation. After five years, he moved to Petroleos De Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) and spent the next 27 years with progressively greater responsibilities. He became president of PDV America in 2000 and served on the CITGO Board of Directors. In 2003, Carlos began providing independent consulting support in the oil and gas industry, with the opportunity to work in most parts of the world advising national oil companies, investors, and legal firms. He participated in upstream, midstream, and downstream projects in the oil sector, and in LNG projects in the gas sector. He was appointed CEO and president of CITGO Petroleum Corporation in 2019 with three key objectives: improving financial and operational stability, protecting assets, and enhancing corporate governance.
Carlos has been married to Dalia Grzesiowski since 1975. They have three children: Christina, Eduardo, and Carlos Enrique, and three grandchildren. Carlos and Dalia have lived in Houston, Texas since 2007.
