About Me
I was raised just a few hours south in Mellen, WI, as a smalltown kid. When I was going into 8th grade, I moved to Superior, WI, the 'big city.' This transition helped me realize that social and human connection is something I value greatly, and ultimately inspired my pursuit of teaching.
I attended the University of Minnesota Duluth for my B.S. in Mathematical Sciences, B.A. in Teaching Math 5-12. After some world travel and soul searching, I returned to UMD to complete my M.S. in Mathematical Sciences; my thesis work, under Dalibor Froncek, was a fusion of Graph Theory and Abstract Algebra.
I am a passionate STEM educator who sees the path to growth in education as one of compassion, patience, and equity. My time in academia has inspired me to want better resources for my students and the students of tomorrow, and I hope to provide a path to those resources through my work at the CDI.
