Biography

Ken is a dedicated faculty member that strives to connect with his students, helping them navigate their way through their first year of engineering at Michigan Tech. Striving to make sure that each of his students feels personally connected, are comfortable asking questions, and feel as though they belong here at Tech is of paramount importance to him. Ken comes to Engineering Fundamentals from an environmental consulting background, but also has owned several of his own businesses, bringing an entrepreneurial spirit to the first-year engineering program. He currently is very involved in getting a fabrication lab up and running for the first year program allowing the curriculum to be directly tied in with the design process. The lab will allow for students to design, prototype, test, and create models of their ideas. When not working, he enjoys mountain biking, fly fishing, and foraging for wild mushrooms in the area.
