Biography
Gregg became a member of the Michigan Tech Facilities Management team in 2007 when he was hired as a Facilities Engineer. Gregg has held his current role as Director of Engineering Services since 2014 and oversees all aspects of the University’s planning, engineering, and construction of campus facilities. Responsibilities include the development of capital projects for state support and self-funded, repository for campus physical plant inventory, coordination of construction projects, preparation of budgets, prioritization of deferred maintenance, and planning and utilization of university space.
Growing up locally, Michigan Tech has always been an integral part of Gregg’s life, from attending sporting events as a youngster, riding in the crane during the construction of the ice arena, or watching the hobo parade. With the greatest engineering school in his own backyard it was an easy decision to attend and receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to his employment at Michigan Tech he worked at a local A&E firm for 14 years, designing HVAC systems and managing projects. He is a Michigan licensed Professional Engineer and a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers. Gregg lives in Houghton with his wife and enjoys boating, officiating high school football, spending time outdoors, and attending MTU football games. He has two grown children with one a student at MTU.
