Janet Hayden

Janet Hayden became Executive Director for Risk Management and Compliance in 2016 after serving as Director of Risk Management since 1996. Hayden oversees the implementation of effective risk financing, loss control, and claims management as part of her risk management responsibilities, and provides leadership for the university’s overall compliance oversight and monitoring efforts.

Prior to coming to Michigan Tech, Hayden worked as an Account Executive for Group 243 an advertising and design agency, and as a Marketing Research Analyst for Mr. Steak Restaurants. Hayden has served on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Universities Self Insurance Corporation (M.U.S.I.C.) since 1996, and currently serves as President and sits on its various committees.  Hayden received her certifications as a Certified Risk Manager (CRM) in 2003, and as a Certified School Risk Manager (CSRM) in 2009.
