Getting Online

Account Access

Your Michigan Tech username and ISO password will be provided during orientation and are necessary to log on to your various electronic accounts:

Google for Education (Email, Calendars, Documents, Groups)
MyMichiganTech (Student Portal | What is MyMichiganTech?)
Canvas (Learning Management System | Using Canvas)
Banweb (Course Registration System)

Hardware Requirements

We strongly encourage hardware that meets the recommended specifications outlined in our incoming engineering student laptop requirements—regardless of your degree program, the memory and storage capacity will allow you to effectively run necessary software and process data provided to you for assignments.

1. Computer

Own a powerful desktop or laptop. Mobile devices will not be enough for our courses.

2. Internet

Have a reliable, high-speed internet connection.

3. Software

Have a standard operating system with up-to-date web browsers available.

Our learning management system does not require special software, however individual assignments may. Check your course syllabus or talk to your professor/advisor.

4. Support

Active Learning Tools
