Dear Members of the Michigan Tech Community,
We are deeply saddened to inform you of the recent loss of a member of our Michigan Tech family, Matthew Sisson. We were notified on February 18, 2025 that he had passed away. Matt was a PhD student in the Materials Science and Engineering program, a member of the CommUNITY Education Team, and an active leader in Graduate Student Government (GSG), where he served as Vice President. We offer our deepest condolences to Matt’s family, friends, and loved ones.
During this time of loss, we are always reminded of the importance of our connections to one another and to our community. Losing a student and member of our community is difficult.
