Accredited by HLC

Michigan Tech has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) since 1928. Our Graduate School offers over 125 certificates, master's, and PhD programs to provide our students and the world with what tomorrow needs.

Who You'll Work With

Our faculty is what makes this real. All of our faculty have at least ten years working as professionals in industry. Each of our faculty bring a unique perspective to the program—from organizational management and leadership, holistic safety, lean manufacturing, product design and development to geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and machine design.

Where You'll Work

Our campus has state-of-the-art facilities for manufacturing engineering. We have a machine shop with a full array of traditional machine tools as well as several CNC lathes and mills. We also have all of the necessary fabrication equipment: MIG, TIG, and Arc welders, CNC plasma table, tubing benders, and sheet metal brakes and presses. On the additive side, we have an industrial grade extrusion based 3D printer, a vat polymer 3D printer, a MJT 3D printer, and a 3D Systems DMP 350 metal powder bed fusion printer capable of 3D printing a variety of metals ranging from aluminum to stainless steel.

Manufacturing Engineering vs. Industrial Engineering

US manufacturing is making a comeback and manufacturing and industrial engineers are in demand. Engineering offers many career options including aerospace, environmental, civil, and electrical—and both manufacturing and industrial engineers play vital roles.
