Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Michigan Tech uses Duo, a multi-factor authentication (MFA) service to verify your identity when you log into systems with access to sensitive information, such as Experience, Canvas, or the VPN. This additional layer of security protects your account and personal information from being accessed if your password is lost or stolen.

How it works

  1. Login with your Michigan Tech account name and password.
  2. Duo confirms your identity by using a phone, tablet, USB key, or PIN generator.

For your convenience, your confirmation can be remembered for up to 30 days.

Getting started

Please visit the Duo Registration page to register your devices.

We recommend registering multiple devices in case your primary device is lost, stolen, or broken. Faculty and staff are encouraged to register their office phone as a second device if they have one.
