AT&T service is generally $60/month for the basic plan. Verizon is $50. Each company has options people can look at such as personal hotspots and international calling plans. IT can assist in pricing out plan options as well as new equipment if desired. Service is billed a month in advance and usage (or overage) is billed monthly.

No Michigan Tech or Michigan Tech Fund monies may be used for personal cell phone service.

You may continue to use the equipment provided to you by Michigan Tech as long as you continue to be a Michigan Tech employee. You will be asked to return the equipment should you leave Michigan Tech or if you choose to replace the equipment with something you have personally purchased.

No. You may choose to explore options with AT&T or Verizon locally and to look at options like family plans/etc. To move off the Michigan Tech plan, IT can work with you to do a Change of Liability (COL) form. This lets you retain the number you have today and move the service.

Yes. You can work with IT to complete a Change of Liability (COL) form to move your number off the Michigan Tech Account.

Each month you will get an email when your bill is ready. You’ll follow a link and log in to with your Michigan Tech account and password. You’ll be able to see a summary of your service and usage and be able to pay via credit card. Failure to pay your outstanding balance past 2 months will result in your phone being suspended until payment in full is made. If this happens more than once, we’ll work with you to transfer your service to AT&T or Verizon directly.
