Library Digital Signage

The library provides digital signage for displaying information about library resources and services. In addition, the library seeks signage content and other creative digital media programming from university organizations and campus affiliates that is interesting, useful, and relevant to campus community and cultural life.

Submitting Your Sign to the Library

Please submit signage requests at least 2 weeks in advance of the requested posting date, as all digital signage is subject to an approval process. During this approval process, the library may edit signage text for grammar, conciseness, or clarity, and in order to ensure your sign adheres to both the library's Digital Signage Policy, and the standards outlined in the University Identity Standards and Editorial Guide.

University organizations and affiliates may submit content for the library's digital signage in any of the following ways:

Send the library your specially-designed signs

If your organization has designed its own signs, you may submit them directly to the library by attaching them in an email to libweb-l@mtu.edu. Please ensure that all signs adhere to the library's signage requirements and its Digital Signage Policy.

The following templates are offered to help your organization more efficiently and conveniently submit your signage content and other creative digital media programming to the library's digital signage system. Feel free to modify sign colors, fonts, and general organization as required.

Open and modify the template with your content.
Save your sign in any of these acceptable formats:
- JPEG (preferred)
- Powerpoint
- PDF

Request the library create your sign

Use the form below to submit your digital sign content (one sign per form). For an explanation of these fields, see our sign template primer, Organizing Effective Signs. When submitting signs to the library, ensure that all signs adhere to the library's Digital Signage Policy.

Organizing Effective Signs

The following criteria must be met for any content submitted for display on the the library's digital signage:

Use easily-readable fonts, such as Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, or Georgia
Submit signs in JPEG (preferred), Powerpoint, or PDF format
Submit signs in landscape orientation—16:9 aspect ratio, 1920 pixels wide x 1080 pixels high
Ensure signs have a pixel resolution of 72 or 96 pixels per inch
State the name of your organization and any contact information (email, phone, webpage, etc.)
Specify in your email the start and end display dates for your sign, as well as any additional instructions
