Biography
Laura Connolly joined Michigan Tech's College of Business in 2018. She is an applied microeconomist with research interests in labor and demographic economics and public policy. Her research explores labor market outcomes across different populations and the impacts of public policies on workers and firms. Current work focuses on women's labor supply dynamics and underrepresentation in management positions. Dr. Connolly has also contributed to several externally funded economic impact studies focused on Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Through her experience teaching economic decision analysis, Dr. Connolly has developed a passion for helping students develop their financial and economic literacy skills -- in and out of the classroom -- to understand the importance of personal finance and market forces in their everyday lives. She also serves as the faculty advisor for the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity and as a member of Breakwater Federal Credit Union's audit supervisory committee.
