Biography
Dr. Amir Hussain Idrisi joined the MAE faculty in 2022 as an Assistant Teaching Professor. He brings over five years of teaching experience at S.R.M.S. College of Engineering and Technology in India. Dr. Hussain earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from United Arab Emirates University, master’s degree in CAD-CAM and bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical University. Dr. Hussain’s areas of research/ expertise include metal matrix and polymer matrix composite: fabrication techniques, and physical and mechanical characterization, as well as additive manufacturing: internal crack analysis in metal or composite components, relating process conditions to static and dynamic mechanical properties, and upcycling. Dr. Hussain is looking forward to collaborate on projects and contribute his teaching experience in fracture mechanics, failure analysis and additive manufacturing to our ME curriculum.
