As Mont Ripley remains a popular destination, we will continue to make investments in its future. Thanks to the contributions of alumni and friends, we were recently able to acquire adjacent property that will soon be developed into additional parking space.
Through the power of collective giving, you can join other alumni and friends to ensure that future generations can enjoy this incredible ski area. In addition to areas that have already been targeted for improvements, we have updated our expansion plans to include a few new areas of smaller, more immediate impact.

Our Chalet is the heart of Mont Ripley—a place where guests relax, socialize, and take in the breathtaking views of the Keweenaw Peninsula. We plan to expand the Chalet deck to provide additional outdoor seating and gathering areas. We will also add a ramp from the parking lot to the main floor of the Chalet, improving accessibility.
With 115 acres in the snowiest place in the Midwest, Mont Ripley is a vital recreation resource for Michigan Tech and the Keweenaw. As the University and community expand, there are opportunities for our facilities to grow and enhance the accessibility of our facilities and ski hill to better welcome everyone who comes to enjoy Mont Ripley.
