David Lawrence

David Lawrence serves as the Vice President for the Global Campus and Corporate Partnerships at Michigan Technological University.  In this role, Lawrence provides leadership and strategic direction to develop and drive the university's online and continuing education strategies. He oversees online graduate degrees, certificates, and advanced education programs for industry professionals.
Lawrence is also responsible for establishing and growing corporate and educational partnerships that help businesses and organizations develop their employees. His unique approach of blending academic rigor with marketplace relevance has helped organizations remain competitive in today's marketplace. Additionally, Lawrence supports the development of research partnerships for Michigan Tech.
With a career spanning 25 years in the education and corporate sectors, Lawrence has demonstrated a strong record of collaborating with businesses to leverage educational opportunities that enhance the workforce and drive organizational success. He began his career in the high-tech industry, spending 15 years collaborating with partners, such as Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, and Microsoft. He holds a master's degree from Grand Valley State University.
