Professional Licensure Disclosures

Federal regulations require that if programs are "designed to meet educational requirements for a specific professional license or certification that is required for employment in an occupation, or is advertised as meeting such requirements, information regarding whether completion of that program would be sufficient to meet licensure requirements in a State for that occupation" must be made readily available to enrolled and prospective students (34 CFR § 668.43).

Below is a list of professional licensure determinations for programs offered at Michigan Technological University that meet the above definition. This information is provided as guidance to assist students in making an initial assessment about the suitability of a program to their goals. Not all Michigan Tech programs are designed to lead to occupations with required licensure or certification. For a full list of programs, please see the admissions page.

These disclosures are only about the required educational components of licensure. Many states have additional requirements that vary by occupation, including, but not limited to, examination and professional experience. It is the responsibility of the student completing a licensure program to check with the licensing board(s) in their state of residence, or in the state in which they intend to obtain a license, for the most recent information and requirements.
