The following is a list of resources and forms commonly used throughout the Laboratory Inspection program at Michigan Tech.
Pre-Inspection Templates
- Hazard Risk Assessment: A hazard analysis or job safety analysis is required whether engaging in research or workplace activities involving hazardous materials or procedures.
- Training Documentation / Log. Training documentation is required for all laboratory processes and procedures, ensuring that any user understands the risks involved with the task, equipment, or process they are performing. Training methods will vary.
- Standard Operation Procedures
- Chemical Hygiene Plan (template coming soon): A chemical hygiene plan is required for laboratories engaged with hazardous chemicals. A plan includes procedures for procurement, storage, use, and disposal of laboratory chemicals as well as the use of emergency equipment, personal protective equipment, engineering controls, and administrative controls for student and employee protection against laboratory hazards.
- Additional hazard information may be required. Additional EHS safety documents are available and may be required based on the hazard assessment.
