Ray E. Cross
- MS Chemistry 1935
Ray Cross received his BS in chemical engineering and his MS in chemistry from Michigan Tech in January of 1935. He had a long and distinguished career as a metallurgist and service executive in the water quality improvement industry. The majority of his professional career was devoted to Culligan Water Conditioning, Inc. He started with Culligan in 1947 and retired from his position as president of the company in 1988.
In October 1998, Ray and his wife, Eleanor, established the Ray E and Eleanor K Cross Endowed Scholarship and the Ray E and Eleanor K Cross Loan Program at Michigan Tech to assist undergraduate students in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering or Chemistry, or other deserving students.
Ray received many professional awards and was recognized for his service and devotion to the water quality industry. He was a member of numerous giving societies and was a profound supporter of Michigan Tech.
