Teaching Evaluations during COVID-19 Pandemic

Proposal: The Senate proposes to address the issue of Teaching Evaluations during the COVID-19 crisis. We propose teaching evaluations be shifted to “opt in” for instructors. Furthermore, we propose the distribution of teaching evaluations to chairs or supervisors be shifted to “opt in” by instructors. Spring semester 2020 evaluations will be prohibited for use in merit and promotion processes, unless faculty agree to allow their inclusion in the appropriate file.
