For those of you who have had a summer (or two!) at SYP, you may be wondering what's next or how else you can be involved with Michigan Tech. Of course, we always welcome returning participants as long as you are eligible—you can also check out these opportunities to stay connected!
More Programs and Camps
We would love to see you at another SYP Exploration program or one of our Pathway programs as a returning student. There are always new courses being offered, so check back next year!
Looking for different kind of a high-energy, active experience? Michigan Tech Recreation hosts camps and clinics in a wide range of sports. Some are during the summer at the same time as SYP (great for siblings or friends with different interests!), and others are offered to local students during the academic year.
The Center for Science and Environmental Outreach also runs STEM-based programs during the school year and summer months, primarily for local students. You can visit their website for more information about their programs including Ride the Waves and after-school programs.
Summer Youth Scholars Award
If you're headed to Michigan Tech for college, welcome to the family! There are currently around 700 SYP alums on campus. Previous SYP participants are eligible to apply for a designated scholarship at Michigan Tech that applies to their first four semesters. The award is competitive—you can learn more by visiting the scholarship's information page.
