Biography
Leslie Dukes teaches piano and organ at Michigan Tech, where she is also a staff accompanist in the choral and theatre departments. She has appeared as ensemble pianist with New Music Works (Santa Cruz, CA), organ soloist with the Organ Historical Society, and pianist for the Pine Mountain Music Festival. Leslie has been active as keyboard player and/or music director for chamber ensembles, orchestra, chorus, opera, and theatre productions in Arizona, California, Michigan, Oregon, and Utah. As collaborative pianist and coach, she held posts at University of California Santa Cruz, AIMS in Graz (Austria), Santa Rosa Junior College (CA), Workshopera! California, and Cinnabar Theater (Petaluma). Dr. Dukes is a member of the American Guild of Organists and Association of Anglican Musicians, and holds degrees in piano performance and pedagogy from Brigham Young University, California State University Chico, and University of Arizona. She is often found playing piano, organ, harpsichord, or celesta with the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra, the Choirs of Michigan Tech, and New Music or Musical Theatre productions at Michigan Tech.
