Jonathan Bara Award for Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant

Jonathan Bara was a graduate student who received the degree Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1975. Within two years of his graduation, Jonathan suffered a heart attack and passed away at the young age of 25. Jonathan was recognized by both students and faculty as an outstanding teaching assistant, this endowed award was established in memory by his family to honor other outstanding GTAs within the department.

Award:  $1,000 cash award (amount was increased from $500 to $1,000 in 2017 by a generous gift from a Bara family member).  The selected student is honored at the annual fall ECE Graduate Student Banquet.
