Medical Support

 
  • Medical Withdrawal for graduate students with medical issues to apply for a leave of absence.
  • GradResouces offers many types of assistance for graduate students including help during crisis, information about a variety of seminars, as well as ways to connect to others in your area of study and location. They specialize in helping graduate students navigate and succeed throughout their time in graduate school.
  • Student Mental Health and Well-being Services are provided by staff who work with student support services at Tech, as well as mental health professionals locally and in the student's home area, to ensure that their counseling needs are met.
  • My Student Support Program (My SSP) offers enrolled students access to 24/7/365 emergency and crisis support as well as self-help resources including fitness videos and ongoing counseling. 
  • Student Health Services/Houghton Family Health Center at the SDC
  • UP Health System - Portage Express Care for illnesses or injuries that require medical treatment but are not serious enough to warrant a visit to the emergency department.
  • UP Health System - Portage Emergency Department s staffed 24/7 for emergency care.
  • Visit the Dean of Students' site for more health services information, including immunizations, disability services, public safety, and student health insurance.

  • HuskyFAN runs a food pantry to help students with food insecurity. Emergency meals, toiletry items, and other resources are available to all students with no approval necessary.
  • Upper Hand Health and Community Resources collates organizations across the UP who assist residents in our area. Resource topics include food, housing, health and legal.
