Husky Health is a voluntary program designed to motivate and reward employees for taking an active role in their personal health and well-being and to help offset their health care costs.
The University values health and well-being among its faculty and staff. The goal of Husky Health is to encourage sustainable and healthy living that helps to prevent chronic disease and other health conditions, as well as managing rising health care costs.
By understanding your current health, as well as knowing your numbers and risk factors, you can take action to help minimize or prevent future health problems.
Husky Health is offered at no cost to current benefit-eligible faculty and staff.

Eligibility
Husky Health is open to all benefits-eligible current employees. Please note: If at any time your benefit status changes (leave of absence, appointment change, etc.), your eligibility to participate and receive the monetary reward may change. You must be an active, benefits-eligible employee at the time of payout.

Yes. Retiree Husky Health allows retirees to earn $200 for completing a Blue Cross Blue Shield Michigan Health Assessment and an annual physical. The $200 Retiree Husky Health incentive will be paid directly to you, allowing more flexibility and choice in how you use your wellness incentive. Retiree Husky Health is voluntary and confidential.
To receive your Retiree Husky Health $200 incentive a Blue Cross Blue Shield Health Assessment and annual physical will need to be completed during the current calendar year.
No. You must be a benefits-eligible current Michigan Tech employee to participate in Husky Health.

Blue Cross Health and Wellness Health Assessment
The Blue Cross Health and Wellness assessment is designed to help faculty and staff understand their current health and health risks. The health assessment is in an easy-to-read, interactive format, and asks questions designed to evaluate health.

The health assessment will take about 15-20 minutes to complete.
Follow the steps in the questionnaire.
Answer all questions to the best of your ability. It will help to know your numbers: height, weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood sugar.
Completion is voluntary. In order to participate in Husky Health Option One, you must complete the health assessment and an annual physical.
Please complete the health assessment after your annual physical, as it will be helpful to know your numbers.

MONETARY REWARD
Yes! You can find the rewards for participating on the Husky Health page.
Michigan Tech has made a long-term commitment to the health and well-being of its faculty and staff to improve their health and to address prevention and health care costs. Research shows that financial incentives and a supportive workplace are effective ways to increase participation. Also, research indicates that high participation in wellness programs adds value for the organization and its employees.
You will receive your payout by the end of February. You must be an active, benefits eligible employee at the time of payout to receive your incentive payout.
There are taxable and non-taxable incentive options.
Participation in Husky Health is voluntary.
All benefits-eligible current employees are eligible to participate and earn incentives in Husky Health.

Michigan Tech has open computer labs across campus.
This program is focused on prevention. Participating in Husky Health will work with your personal health care provider to help you reduce your health risk factors and/or better manage certain chronic health conditions.
