College Of Business Impact Scholar
Meet Kalle, 2022 Impact Scholar
Kalle Keranen of Ishpeming, Michigan, is the recipient of Michigan Tech’s full-tuition
Impact Scholarship. Aside from her studies, the general business major aims to join
the Pavlis Honors College, the Applied Portfolio Management Program, and the American
Marketing Association on campus. A five-sport athlete during high school, Keranen
is eager to stay active through golf and snowboarding, and also test her skills at
broomball, Tech’s beloved wintertime sport. As a third-generation Husky, her interest
in Michigan Tech began as a child, but really evolved during a campus summer tour.
“I was initially thinking about engineering, but after self reflection and meeting
business professors who were so welcoming and passionate, I knew I wanted to pursue
business at Michigan Tech,” she says. Keranen can already envision her goals after
college. “My dream career is to be a marketing executive in the sports industry. I
would love to be in charge of social media or digital marketing for an NHL team.”
