Specimen Exchange Chamber
The specimen exchange chamber is a small airlock connected to the sample chamber that permits the specimen to be exchanged without venting the entire microscope.
Exchange Rod
A rod used to insert the specimen into the microscope. The specimen is threaded onto the rod, then pushed onto the specimen stage inside, and unscrewed from the rod. The rod is retraced back out until the user wishes to retrieve the specimen. This rod facilitates fast loading and unloading, as well as preserving the vacuum.
MV-1 Lever
Isolates the specimen exchange chamber from the specimen chamber. To open, rotate the valve lever up, only when the HIGH lamp of S.E.C Vacuum is lit. To close, rotate the valve lever back down to its starting position.
