Experiment with characterizing and making new materials in a suite of labs dedicated to undergraduate studies. Learn in the metal foundry and casting facility (our metalcasting program earned a 97 percent certification score from the Foundry Educational Foundation—making it one of the top programs in the country). Use scanning electron microscopes and computer simulation labs. Improve the efficiency of scrap metal recovery for Gerdau by working with the Advanced Metalworks Enterprise. Conduct leading-edge materials research alongside faculty in the McArthur Research Interns program. Make breakthroughs in process engineering, quality control, or materials design. You can also earn a master’s in one additional year through our Accelerated Master’s program.
